122 Massey Drive Update

On April 11, 2025, the following memo was provided to tenants at 122 Massey Drive.

—————————————————-

PHARA continues to advocate to all levels of government and our community to secure the necessary funding for the immediate structural repairs and infrastructure needs of the 122 Massey housing complex. We are operating in good faith that the funding will come so we may move forward with construction shortly.

As we move forward with the belief the funding will be obtained PHARA went to tender on Tuesday April 8, 2025. The tendering process allows companies to place bids on completing the work.

PHARA’s plan, based on the funding becoming available, and a successful tendering process is to begin the repairs with Building 3 (Units 22 to 33). When Building 3 is complete, move forward with Building 4 (Units 34 to 49).  PHARA will then continue one building at a time with Building 1 (Units 1 to 8) and Building 2 (Units 9 to 21).

It is our understanding at this time that tenants in the upper units may not need to relocate temporarily. Tenants in lower units will need to be relocated temporarily during the repair period.  PHARA’s goal is house individuals requiring relocation in existing PHARA housing units within North Bay. This work is not to raise rents. This work is to keep 122 Massey open as a housing complex today and for years to come.

We appreciate your patience and ongoing support on this matter.

Thank you,

PHARA Community Services
