PHARA is actively recruiting a new members for the volunteer Board of Directors. The Board includes 10 members from the local area, committed to the sustainability of providing services and advocacy to people with physical disabilities. Learn about our existing board here.
PHARA Community Services is North Bay’s Leader in Independent Living, Affordable Housing, and Health Care. PHARA provides services in both official languages to people with disabilities as well as housing opportunities for those with low or moderate incomes. PHARA is dedicated to growing community services to meet community need.
PHARA provides over 49,000 days of housing to the communities of North Bay and surrounding area. PHARA has a mandate to enhance the quality of life and independence for individuals with disabilities, or those facing the effects of aging. Through rehabilitative and recreational programs, skills training, and advocacy, PHARA promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being while addressing daily needs and fostering lifelong independence and community inclusion.
Board members are unpaid volunteers.
WHAT DOES A BOARD DO?
The Board of Directors provides governance, strategic guidance, and oversight to the organization.
AM I QUALIFIED?
Yes! We recruit members from a wide range of backgrounds and skillsets.
HOW MUCH TIME IS NEEDED?
About 3 hours per month. Meetings are a mix of hybrid and remote.
