Supporting Personal Support Workers (PSW) Pathway to Success Scholarship

The PHARA Community Services PSW Pathway to Success Student Scholarship supports two eligible Ontario students enrolled in a registered Personal Support Worker program in the Nipissing area. Each scholarship winner receives $500 for use towards their post-secondary education costs, like tuition, books, technology and transportation.

Who is eligible?

Students must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be living Ontario during the school term.

  • Be enrolled in a Nipissing area PSW program for the 2026-2027 school year, or program equivalent.

Scholarship terms and conditions

Scholarship amount
PHARA Community Services awards the PSW Pathways to Success Scholarship to deserving individuals. In 2026, we are excited to award up to two scholarships of $500 each.

Eligible uses
Eligible uses for the scholarship funds include: tuition, books, technology (laptop, etc.), and transportation.

Application evaluation criteria
Your application will be reviewed by a PHARA committee that includes representatives senior leadership staff and Board members. When they review your application, they will be scoring you based on:

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Effort put into answering the application questions

Submitting your application
Eligible applicants must submit a completed application form and all supporting documents through the PHARA website. All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.

Notification to applicants
PHARA will notify both successful applicants in July of 2026.

Acknowledgements
PHARA will acknowledge scholarship recipients on the PHARA website and social media.
