Essential Health Program - L.I.P.I
The Essential Health Program (E-Health) is for individuals throughout the Nipissing District that cannot access existing support programs or require partial funding to pay for health-related items or services.

E-Health may help to pay for things like:

  • Assistive Devices Progam (ADP) consumer portion

  • Assisted Devices

  • Bedbug Treatment

  • Glasses

  • Head Lice Treatment

  • Medical Supplies

  • Optometrists

  • Orthopedics/Orthotics

  • Prescriptions

  • Travel Costs

Ontario Drug Benefit Program
The Ontario Drug Benefit program covers most of the cost of approximately 5,000 prescription drug products. Get help paying for prescription drugs when you qualify for the Ontario Drug Benefit program.

Ontario: Assistive Devices Program
The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) helps people with long-term physical disabilities pay for customized equipment, like wheelchairs and hearing aids. The ADP also helps cover the cost of specialized supplies, such as those used with ostomies.

PHARA: Assistive Devices Program
Borrow free assistive and mobility devices. The Assistive Devices program operates out of PHARA’s Westwind Apartment building at 280 Oakwood Avenue in North Bay. The program provides assistive and mobility devices at no charge for a period of up to 90 days.


March of Dimes: Ontario Home & Vehicle Modification Program
The HVMP provides funding for basic and essential solutions directly addressing physical barriers within a home explicitly related to an applicant's disability and current mobility restrictions as recommended by an Occupational Therapist. This includes assistive devices, home adaptations, construction, and vehicle modifications.

Dental Assistance Program - L.I.P.I
The Dental Assistance Program is for individuals throughout the Nipissing District that cannot access existing support programs or require partial funding to pay for emergency dental assistance. Dental Assistance Program may help to pay for things like extractions and repairs.

Healthy Smiles Ontario (HSO)
Teeth cleaning, check-ups and dental treatment for kids. How to access free dental care for children 17 years old and under, if they are eligible through the government’s Healthy Smiles program. The program is designed for lower-income families in need of support.

Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP)
Learn how to access free, routine dental care for eligible seniors 65 years or older, through the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program. The program is designed to support low-income seniors.

The Health Unit Dental Clinic
The Health Unit Adult Program (HUAP) allows eligible adults access to our dental clinic for urgent dental care. The Health Unit Dental Clinic provides dental care for individuals 18 years and older from the Nipissing and Parry Sound districts who meet the financial criteria or are recipients of Ontario Works, ODSP, Interim Federal Health Program or non-insured health benefits for Indigenous individuals.


Canadore College’s On-campus Dental Hygiene Clinic
Canadore College’s on-campus dental hygiene clinic is run by Dental Hygiene faculty, staff and students and offers a variety of low-cost and free services to patients.
