Turning Your Old Car into Local Care: Two Charities Team Up with Donate a Car Canada
Two respected community organizations, PHARA Community Services and the Rotary Club of North Bay have come together in a unique partnership to raise funds and awareness through the Donate a Car Canada program. This initiative allows individuals to make a meaningful difference by donating their used or unwanted vehicles, with proceeds going directly to support local programs and services offered by each organization.
Donate a Car Canada accepts donations of cars, trucks, RVs, motorcycles, and boats in almost any condition. Vehicles are either recycled or sold at auction, depending on their state, and the net proceeds are directed to the donor’s chosen charity. By selecting either PHARA or the Rotary Club of North Bay, community members can ensure their contributions stay local and support causes close to home.
“This partnership represents a win for everyone,” said Mike Van der Vlist, CEO of PHARA Community Services. “Residents can responsibly part with vehicles they no longer need, and at the same time help us provide essential health care services, housing, and independence in our community.”
The Rotary Club of North Bay sees the program as an opportunity to extend its longstanding tradition of service. “Our members are always looking for innovative ways to give back,” said Jeffrey Hobbs, Rotary Club President. “Funds raised through this program will support youth, health, education, and international projects that make a real difference.”
Donating a vehicle is simple. Individuals can visit www.donatecar.ca, fill out the online form, and select the charity they wish to support. Donate a Car Canada arranges free towing in most areas across Canada, or donors can drop off their vehicle at a designated location. After the donation is processed, the chosen charity receives the proceeds and the donor receives a tax receipt.
By working together the two charities hope to encourage more people in the region to consider the impact of this easy and meaningful way of giving back.
